In an ideal world, I would have around an hour every morning to transform into my better self that I pretend is my normal self. Unfortunately we don’t live in an ideal world and at 6.30am I opt for that extra 15 minutes under the duvet over (inevitably unsuccessful) attempts at making myself look like Kendall Jenner.
At that time in the morning, we want to make ourselves look good and fast. I’ve streamlined my make up collection to optimise the time I have and ensure I’m not cracking the mirror in the work loos come lunchtime.
I start by dabbing the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in the shade 32 Light Beige on my cheeks, nose and forehead and blend it in using a Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush. This brush was quite the investment but worth every penny as it works so well with every base I use, be it foundations or lighter creams.
I then dot my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the shade Vanilla under my eyes and in any places I need extra coverage, which is usually on my forehead. I recently jumped back on the bandwagon with this one and forgotten how bloody amazing it is! Like the name suggests, it’s so creamy in consistency and covers even my dark circles (which is really saying something). I then lightly powder my evil oily T zone with the Soap & Glory One Heck Of A Blot translucent powder.
Next comes eyes. I use the Clinique Cream Shaper for Eyes in the shade 105 Chocolate Lustre along my upper lash line to add definition to my eyes and then use Clinique’s High Impact Mascara in Black. I always come back to this mascara – it’s the one I recommend again and again to friends and it some how seems to get even better as it dries out. I also use the eyeliner lightly under my eyes to open them up a little more.
I then fill in my brows with my Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade Soft Brown, focusing on the inner ends where I have saddening bald patches from teenage over plucking (sisters not twins, sisters not twins) and sweep my brush on the bronzer from the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette, taking care to be light with my brush as a little goes a long way. A good tinted lip balm with a pop of colour is always in my make up bag too – at the moment I’m loving the Nyx Colour Lip Balm in the shade Tack.
I’ve streamlined this process so it takes me all of ten(ish) minutes, perfect for me to make my delightful and not remotely busy 7.30am train *fake smiley emoji*
