Perfect winged liner must be one of the most coveted beauty looks, up there with Cara Delevingne brows and flawless skin. I’m going to start with a little disclaimer and say I am definitely no expert and this is instead just what I find the easiest method!
For those of you blessed with a steady hand – I envy you. I’ve had shaky hands that have harboured me throughout my life (anyone else get the exam shakes?) so free hand liners have always been out of the question. If I had to pick one I would say the Eyeko Skinny Black Liquid Liner would be my go to as the nib is skinny (who’d have guessed) which enables those with clumsy hands to go in a little at a time.
My favoured method by about 783479825 miles is the flat brush and pot routine. I would even go so far as saying this is foolproof because the brush does all the work for you. Any flat brush will do the job well, here I’m using an old Space NK brand brush that I got in a kit in sale years ago.
I use the Smashbox Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner in the shade ‘Dark Brown’, a hard, creamy consistency, dab my brush in the pot and delicately press along my lash line. The trick is not to drag it like you would with a pen – that way the line created with the brush stays tidy and enables you to create your desired flick. Really love this method, it saves me money on infinite cotton buds and tears of anger in the morning… We’ve all been there.
What is your winged liner trick?
