There’s nothing I love more than coming across an absolute gem and feeling like it’s my little secret. Kiko is an Italian cosmetics brand founded in 1997, selling across Europe and now the US. A while back, I stumbled across a Kiko store in Westfields and was blown away at how stylish it was and how friendly and knowledgable the staff were. All the packaging seemed very luxe, which, in my mind, didn’t correlate with the reasonable prices. I bought a few things and now I want everything.
Face Skin Glow light effect day cream
I just love the packaging for this, so girly and it even has a pump – double thumbs up. This day cream is the perfect consistency, not too oily but moisturising enough to be used in the morning before putting your face on. I found it really illuminated my skin and made me look really fresh faced. It even has SPF 10 – what’s not to like? It’s currently on sale here for just £5 (!!), winner winner chicken dinner.
Luscious cream lipstick in the shade ‘503 hot cocoa’
Aesthetically pleasing but kinda hard to open – once you get the hang of the whole pop twist yank thing, you’re good to go. In the bullet, this looks like a daunting warm brown tone that would be more suited to darker skin. When I swatched it on my hand in store, it felt buttery and seemed more like a warmer-than-average nude. I like this as a day-to-day lipstick, as the formula is really moisturising and seems to make my lips look fuller – not quite to Kylie Jenner level though. It’s worth noting that a lip liner is beneficial here as it’s formula and shade means it can slip around your mouth. This is also in sale at the moment for £5 here.
Smart eye pencil in the shade ‘802 dark amethyst’
The regular price of this is just £2.50… Amazing. This is an impressive dupe of my favourite Clinique Cream Shaper eye pencil for just a fraction of the price. I’m confused at the shade name as it is clearly a brown tone, but I’ll let them off. There’s a very slight shimmer just like its Clinique counterpart that I really like. The creamy formula makes it a buildable and blendable eyeliner so you can take it from subtle day to a more shimmery evening look. Love. (Also apologies for the missing photo of me wearing this liner – they came out really blurry).
Have you tried anything from Kiko? What items should I add to my wish list?
