It’s always nice to have someone to blame for shopping. “ANOTHER parcel came for you, thought you had no money?” “Oh it’s *enter fictional friend name*’s birthday so had to get her something!”
One of the best things about the beauty blogging world is reading about the good and the bad in store so you don’t waste your money. When I’m considering splurging on a product, I’m always thorough with my research to ensure it’s not a complete waste of money – cue my favourite bloggers! Here are a few of my best blogger-enabled purchases that I would/have bought over and over again.
I blame… Amelia Liana! Anastasia Brow Wiz in the shade ‘soft brown’
Before I heard about this I was filling my brows in with a brown pencil, giving me a really heavy, overdone look that I never realised looked horrendous until I saw myself in photos. Everyone raved about the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil but after watching a few tutorials, decided it wasn’t for me as the nib is so thick. The Brow Wiz has a tiny tip, which makes it easier to create a natural look when filling in that half of an eyebrow you over plucked when you were 13. The formula is slightly waxy too, making it really long lasting. Repurchase 4eva.
I blame… Vivianna Does MakeUp! YSL Youth Liberator Foundation in the shade ‘BR20’
Is it possible to not love Anna? She is so detailed and passionate in her description of products that it’s hard not to buy everything she recommends. The formula is serum based and slightly heavier than what I’m used to, so I found it’s best to apply with fingers to avoid using too much. I really like the finish, although I could maybe benefit from mixing it with a slightly darker shade as it’s quite pale on my normal skin tone. A worthy investment too as a little goes a long way!
I blame… Lily Pebbles! Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream in the shade ’32 Light Beige’
Lily Pebbles’ skin always looks flawless on her blog and on YouTube so I’m keen to know what she uses for her base. She did a review on this CC cream ages ago and I remember reading it en route to Boots so I had Bourjois on da brain. I haven’t looked back since, this is my go-to base in the morning as it’s so quick and easy to apply, covering any uneven skin tone with a really natural finish. Love.
I blame… Essie Button! Stila Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in the shade ‘Lillium’
I always think of my fave Canadian gal whenever I hear a mention of Stila and Tarte. She really knows how to sell a product to me, with that fine English rose complexion she’s got going on, always looking so fresh! I’m sold on this as a cheek product, applied lightly to the apples of my cheeks to give a subtle hint of warmth to my complexion without looking like I’ve been slapped (dangerous blusher territory on these dark mornings…). You can read more about my thoughts on this here.
I blame… Suzie from Hello October! Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm
Suzie is one of many bloggers who love this balm and it definitely deserves the hype! I recently finished my second pot and used other lip balms for a couple of days, leaving my lips feeling horrible. The formula is thick and seriously nourishing, smells like honey and is so long lasting that my lips still feel hydrated in the morning. Amazing.
