A Dupe For Laura Mercier’s Illuminating Quad

I love me a drugstore dupe – if I’m going to save a purse of pennies, I’m game. Laura Mercier’s Illuminating Quad is a favourite of many, giving a subtle hint of flattering colour on the cheek with its four tones – blushes, highlighter and a bronzer. It’s inarguably a beautiful thing, but at £29 I was in the market for a cheaper option.

Enter Revlon’s Highlighting palette. I picked it up in the shade ‘bronze glow’ and I love it. Aside from its impressive lasting power, the colour palette is warm and seasonal, with the stripes being wide enough to pick and choose with your brush if you didn’t fancy the full shebang. It does have the dreaded ‘S’ word (shimmer) but as long as you don’t whirl your brush around the palette like a woman possessed, it isn’t obvious or remotely overpowering on the cheek.

One criticism I have is I’m not a huge fan of the middle panel – slightly problematic. It’s pay off is a little too dark for my fair skin when sweeping my brush across the whole palette, but can be worked with with a light-handed touch. A worthwhile investment to save you over £20!

What is your favourite drugstore dupe?
