When I think of a smokey eye, the first shades that come to mind are greys, browns and a light handed use of the nearly-blacks. Using a khaki green never occurred to me until watching Burberry's AW15 show at London Fashion Week on Monday, where Burberry make up genius Wendy Rowe used the shade in the waterline of the models to add something a bit extra to the classic smokey eye. If Ms Rowe thinks something works, I am most definitely going to give it a go!

I popped by the Burberry Beauty Box in Covent Garden to peruse their SS15 make up offerings that launched this week. The highly coveted Eye Colour Silk in the shade Pale Barley - a warm taupe-y tone with a hint of shimmer - is all out of stock, most likely thanks to recent rave reviews and tutorials by beauty bloggers.

Instead, I decided step out of my comfort zone and opted for the shade Khaki Green, a forest green with a slight hint of gold. I am really impressed with the quality of this shadow - good colour pay off, long lasting and can be manipulated for different looks due to their wet and dry formula (difference pictured up there! ^). Dab a little water on the back of your hand and blend the shadow to get an almost creamy consistency, making them buildable and adaptable for a day or night look.

What do you think of a khaki green eye?
