NEW YEAR NEW ME. Lol jk I'm great already. Lol jk I want to fit in size 10 jeans this year? Who even knows.

It's so easy to get mushy when reflecting on the passing year but like I mentioned in my New Year's Eve make up post (which you can read here) 2014 was a long ol' year that didn't pass me by quickly in the slightest. It hasn't been the happiest year of my life so far and I guess it hasn't been the worst either, but it has made me question what my own version of happiness is. Isn't that an overwhelming thing to consider - what your epitome of happiness really is.

Wait this has got a bit deep, let's talk about stuff I thought was cool this year (okay, technically last year, but that still doesn't feel right to say yet).

***2014 Hall of Fame***

1. High end beauty brand - Charlotte Tilbury
Everything is amazing. EVERYTHING. The packaging, the product, the lady behind the brand... Everything. (Okay maybe not the price tag...)

2. Drugstore beauty brand - Maybelline
They have had some impressive launches this year, their Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows being my favourite and a permanent fixture in my day to day look.

3. YouTuber - Lily Pebbles
I, of course, love her blog as well but Lily's editing is above and beyond her counterparts. Her shoe collection video, which you can see here, sticks in my mind as one of my favourites from 2014, just so damn good. I would love to start my own YouTube channel but do I have the balls? Only time will tell...

4. Blog - ViviannaDoesMakeUp
I have been reading Anna's blog for a couple of years and I find her posts have been consistently interesting and inspiring throughout 2014. Be it beauty, recipes and most recently fitness, I find reading her posts give me that kick up the butt I need to motivate me.

5. Trend - Slip on pumps
I was wary when I first saw these emerge in stores as I had concerns of resembling Avril Lavigne in her Sk8er Boi days (kl spelling). They are, however, the comfiest things in the whole world and have hardly left my feet in the latter half of the year.

6. Film - About Time
Although this film was released in the summer of 2013, my love for it has grown even more this year. I can't even count how many times I've watched it, I cry every time because it's just so happy and perfect and I have converted multiple people along the way. Potential favourite lovey dove film ever.

7. Book - Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.
I have loved Leandra Medine's blog for a really long time and knew that her book would be nothing short of hilarious. It takes a lot for me to laugh at a book and at one point I laughed so much, it turned into a coughing fit from which my life flashed before my eyes. True story.

8. Song - Duke Dumont - I Got U
This song always puts a smile on my face, reminding me of happy, carefree days laid by the beach with friends in Portsmouth at the end of university. Oh how I miss those days...

9. Country - Czech Republic
Admittedly the only country I had the chance to explore earlier this year, but I really fell in love with Prague. I visited with my housemates during the Easter break and it was freakishly warm, beautiful, affordable and we visited the same gelato shop enough times for the owner to begin recognising us and gave us free ice cream. Best. Place. Ever.

What have been your favourites of 2014?
