Since they first launched their beauty line, I've been a fan of Topshop lipsticks but have never strayed much further. During a recent shopping trip, which you can read about here, I dived head first into their beauty hall at the flagship store. We'll start with the two thumbs up...

Sheer Lip in Chuck
On the website this is described as pink, but it has much darker tones in the flesh. It applies like a lip balm, giving a glossy rose tint and feels really moisturising - I love moisturising lip products as I have such dry lips all year round. The packaging is also really nice, it has a rubbery feel and has lots of little stars all over giving it a festive feel, it would make a nice little Christmas gift! I would use a mirror to apply this because it shows up against skin, but all in all I really like this and would buy other shades!

Glow Stick in Play Up
I'm a little of a novice when it comes to highlighters in stick format/at all. I can just about work a highlighter as part of a blush/bronzer compact so thought I'd be cray and branch out. I was surprised at how much this opened up my eyes when dabbed into the inner corner and the longevity was impressive. Highlighters are obviously shimmery but I find that some are glittery and I am not all about the glitter, no no, but this has the perfect balance - thumbs up.

BB Cream with SPF 20 in Light
I really really wanted to love this... It was so promising when I swatched it on my hand in store. Although there are only three shades (Light, Medium and Dark), Light seemed like a good match for me and it felt so smooth and silky.

It's really matte on the skin, not what I'd usually go for in the colder months, but the medium coverage was what I was looking for at the time as I was having a period of bad skin (P-word being key). It applied well, but after a few hours it seemed to almost separate on the skin and look patchy, clinging to any dry patches. I'd describe my skin type as combination, so maybe this would work better for those with more oily skin.

You know sometimes when you're trying to take a picture of yourself and it just isn't working out... I tried to take photos using all of these products and it just wasn't happening, so here is a sexy self-timer mishap which is worth a lol or two...

  2. I agree about the BB cream, I tried it wanting to love it because the highlighter stick and all of their lipsticks and glosses were fabulous! But the BB is pretty dreadful. I found it hard to apply even with moisturizer and primer on underneath, it just doesn't live up to expectations unfortunately! xxx
